Job Summary
The Assessor is responsible for evaluating garments and textile items to determine the most appropriate cleaning method, stain removal process, and fabric care requirements. The role requires extensive knowledge of fabrics, garment construction, stain identification, dry-cleaning processes, and laundry operations to ensure high-quality garment care and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
Garment and Fabric Assessment
- Identify various fabric and textile materials and determine their cleaning requirements.
- Assess garment construction, design structures, and special care needs.
- Identify garment care labels and interpret care instructions accurately.
- Determine suitable cleaning methods when care labels are missing or unclear.
- Assign the appropriate cleaning process for garments based on fabric type, condition, and customer requirements.
Stain Identification and Treatment
- Identify different types of stains and determine effective removal methods.
- Recommend and apply appropriate solvents, chemicals, detergents, and cleaning agents for stain removal.
- Evaluate garments for potential cleaning risks and take preventive measures to avoid damage.
Laundry and Dry-Cleaning Operations
- Operate PERC and GreenEarth dry-cleaning systems safely and efficiently.
- Operate washers, dryers, and other laundry equipment as required.
- Manually operate dry-cleaning machines when necessary.
- Perform pressing, ironing, and steaming of garments to maintain quality standards.
- Ensure garments are processed according to company quality and safety procedures.
Training and Quality Support
- Train and guide Spotters, Washers, and Dry Cleaners on garment assessment, stain removal, and cleaning techniques.
- Provide technical expertise and support to production teams.
- Monitor cleaning quality and recommend process improvements.
Administration and Communication
- Maintain accurate records and garment assessment details using computer systems.
- Communicate effectively with team members and customers when required.
- Prepare reports and enter data with accuracy and efficiency.
- Read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
Additional Responsibilities
- Follow all company policies, safety procedures, and quality standards.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Perform any other duties assigned by the Manager.
Experience and Qualification
- 3 Years of experience in Laundry operation
- Fabric knowledge and understanding
- Familiar with the laundry operations
