Washmen is the leading laundry and garment-care app in the UAE. We've grown from an on-demand laundry startup into a multi-vertical care company spanning laundry, dry cleaning, shoe care, bag care, and restoration, serving customers through our own app and through super app partnerships. We're backed by regional and international investors and run one of the largest garment-care operations in the region.
The Role
You will own Washmen’s finance function end to end and report directly to the CEO.
First and foremost, this is an operating role. You run the day-to-day: accounting operations, monthly close, the monthly financial reporting pack to investors, budgets, forecasts, and cash. The numbers are accurate, on time, and defensible, every month.
Second, you improve the department. We want a lean, efficient finance function with proper governance, modern tools, and AI built into how the work gets done. You’ll be expected to use AI daily yourself, redesign processes around it, and bring your team along.
What You’ll Own
1. Running the finance function (the core of the role)
• Day-to-day accounting operations and monthly close across our group entities
• Monthly FP&A and reporting to investors: financial pack, budget vs actual, forecasts
• Annual budgeting and the company financial model
• Cash management, banking relationships, and working capital
• External audit, UAE corporate tax, VAT, and regulatory compliance
• Corporate filings and administration: trade license renewals, ADGM filings, entity-level compliance
• Business partnering with Growth, Product, and Operations on unit economics eand margins
2. Building a lean, modern department
• Proper governance: controls, documentation, and processes that hold up in audit and due diligence
• Modern tooling: upgrade how the team works, from spreadsheets to systems
• AI-first workflows: redesign close, reconciliation, reporting, and inteligence around AI
• Team development on accounting SOPs and use of AI
• Self-serve, real-time visibility into the numbers using our data warehouse and BI tools
What We Require
• CPA, CA, or ACCA qualification
• Experience with Big 4 a plus
• UAE experience
• Demonstrable, hands-on AI usage in your current role.
Must Have
• Used AI tools in your daily finance work, and shall be open to demonstrate the same during the interview process
• Track record owning a full finance function as CFO, VP Finance, Finance Director, or a Financial Controller ready to set up
• Strong controllership fundamentals: you can close books, build a model, and defend the numbers in an audit or due diligence.
